A downloadable game for Windows, Linux, and Android

Welcome to Shared Roof (Work in Progress)

Shared Roof is an upcoming Adult Visual Novel / Life-Simulation game currently in active development. Step into a household full of mysteries, sudden freedom, and shifting boundaries.

📖 The Story

After the sudden and mysterious disappearance of their parents, a step-brother and step-sister are left entirely on their own. Under the same roof, they must manage their daily lives, uncover the truth behind their parents' absence, and deal with the growing, undeniable tension between them. With no adults around, the rules are gone.

🌟 Key Features

  • Dual Protagonists (Switchable Characters): You are in complete control. Switch between the step-brother and step-sister during gameplay to experience the story from both perspectives and play through both genders!
  • Living World & Management: Navigate their daily routines, manage time, and explore different rooms in the house.
  • Shifting Relationships: Every choice influences how they view each other. Will they remain just family, or will the boundaries blur into something much more intimate?
  • NSFW Content (Upcoming): Look forward to explicit, high-quality adult scenes as the bond between the characters deepens.

🛠️ Current Development Status (WIP)

Please note that Shared Roof is currently in an early stage of development. The game is NOT complete, and many features, scenes, and visual updates will be added incrementally through future updates.

By downloading the current build, you are playing an early prototype/alpha version. Your feedback is highly appreciated to help shape the future of the game!

Yo bro! I just tried out your new update.

I really like the space ship minigame during the stream—the idea and the aesthetic are great! However, the controls feel super awkward to use, and the donation window ends up covering almost the entire screen, which makes it hard to play.

Also, I really enjoyed the new events between the MCs! Just a heads up though, the park scene with the FeMC is bugged—the images aren't showing up at all.

For future updates, it would be cool to add some more challenge. Maybe after they’ve lived in the house for a month, they’d have to start paying for electricity, water, and internet, each month? You could even add random events where stuff breaks and they have to call a repairman. It would be a nice touch if they couldn't stream or watch TV whenever the power is out!

Just some thoughts, not saying you have to do it exactly like that, but I think it could add some fun depth. Keep it up!

Yo bro! Thanks a lot for the comment and for checking out the new update. I really appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for the heads-up about the park scene with the FeMC. I’ll look into the code right away and fix that image bug in the next patch. As for the space ship minigame, it's currently just a rough prototype/test version to see how it feels, but I'm definitely going to polish the controls and fix that oversized donation window in the future.

Your ideas for the monthly bills and random household events are awesome! I'd love to hear more about them. If you have more specific ideas on how they should work, please let me know. For example, what exact random events should happen, what choices should the player have when something breaks, and how should it affect the stats or the story afterward?

Your input would help a lot. Thanks again and keep it real! 🚀

Glad I could help with the feedback. That's awesome you're open to these ideas! Here’s a bit more on how those household events and mechanics could work:

1. The 'Repair System' (Risk vs. Reward):

When something breaks (power, water, internet), the player should have two choices:

  • The 'Safe' Path: Elina calls a technician. It’s guaranteed to work, but it costs money and consumes the whole day (you lose your time for that day).
  • The 'Skill' Path: Aiden can try to fix it himself, but he loses a daylight phase searching a room. Adding more rooms would increase the difficulty; a search stat would improve the chances of finding the fault.
Furthermore, he would still have to attempt to repair it, whether it's electricity, water, or internet. Each of these would have its own skill stat, which improves by reading books or trying to fix things.

2. Consequences & Interdependency: The house status should directly affect gameplay:

  • No Power: No PC (no streaming) and no TV.
  • No Water: They can't shower, which tanks their mood/energy and makes them refuse to interact. Maybe even a penalty at Aiden’s job for showing up unkempt! (You could reduce the time or pay that Aiden receives in the work minigame)
  • No Internet: Elina can’t stream, and they can’t buy stuff online.

Obviously, if you don't pay those bills, they'll end up cutting off those services.

3. Character Stats & Progression:

Here we can see the characters' stats, their opinions of each other, and with these values we could trigger events. For example, if Elina has a good opinion of Aiden, she could give him gifts or favors.

We can also see Aiden's search and repair stats.

4. The 'Lottery' Mechanic: This would be a fun RNG element!

  • Aiden can buy a ticket at the supermarket. The draw happens on TV at night.
  • If the power goes out, I'll have to fix it before nightfall or call a technician, and Aiden will check if he automatically wins, but he'll still lose the day, but it's unlikely he'll win the lottery.
  • Fortune/Luck: If he watches the morning news/horoscope on TV, it could give him a buff/debuff to his winning odds (e.g., +10% or -15% luck).

Anyway, just throwing some ideas out there! Hope this helps you flesh out the system. Stoked to see how this turns out in the next patch!

It caught my attention this prototype! The dynamic between the two protagonists and the ability to interact with each other is a great concept—it made the experience very engaging. Even though it's still in the early stages, I see a lot of potential here. Can't wait to see how it improves over time!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked the mechanic.

Since the game is still in the early stages, I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you have any cool ideas or suggestions, please feel free to share them here! 🙏✨

Thank you for the reply! Honestly, it feels like it's in the very early stages right now, but it's a solid foundation to showcase the core concept. Since you asked, here are a few ideas that came to mind:

  • Character Routes: I think it would be cool if the female protagonist had 3 different paths: one where she's cold and distant, one where she's a 'tsundere' (affectionate but denies her feelings), and one where she's openly in love.
  • Streaming Minigame: When she streams, you could add a time-based minigame where users request actions (like dancing or greeting). You could balance it by having some requests lower the rating but increase the donations, which would create an interesting risk-reward mechanic.
  • Customization & Reactions: It would be great to customize the protagonists' outfits, and have each of them react specifically to what the other is wearing.

These are just some thoughts, but I hope they serve as inspiration for your development. Good luck with the project—I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows!

I'm curios on the AI models you used. I know they're local since the major models can't do NSFW. I actually have a separate external hard drive just for my AI stuff.

Thanks for reaching out! Actually, I'm currently using SDXL Lightning locally inside ComfyUI for my workflow.

But here's a little trick if you ever want to try it out without setting it up locally: you can actually run this exact model online on Perchance without any restrictions. It's pretty convenient!🤯
